The Sales Character Index
As sales people, we think of improving our results by developing the behaviour that arises from our Attitude, Skills & Knowledge. The customer on the other hand will often decide whether to invest or not, based on the “Character” that shines through our behaviour when we connect, which of course we may or may not, be aware of! We express sales character as Personal Maturity and assess it by measuring sixteen character traits contained within The Sales Character Index™.
The Sales Character Traits
- DYNAMIC ATTITUDES: These four define the ways or manner in which we sell. They touch the customer and the outside world with our inner world.
- INWARD EXPRESSIONS: This group of attributes impact our motives and sales attitude, denoting the internal state from which our selling behaviours derive.
- PASSIVE ATTITUDES: Evidence of this group is often found in our sales approach and our customer interaction. We might describe them as attributes we ‘hold’ or maintain.
- OUTWARD EXPRESSIONS: Each of these, reflects ways in which we relate to others. They are what we actively demonstrate in our relationships with customers & colleagues.
